A funeral service followed by a burial will be held at Pinegrove Memorial Gardens, Sydney at 10:30am on Wednesday 30 April 2014.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
The service will be conducted by a Funeral Celebrant. There will be an open coffin viewing prior to the service, a slide show presentation, eulogies and music.
In line with the practices of John’s family, John’s sister, Isabella, is requesting the service will not be specifically denominational but will include common spiritual themes such as:
- Death is not the end. Death frees our mystical core or soul
- With death our souls are free to participate in spiritual union or universal oneness
- A Hindu/Vedic theme where each perspective only captures an aspect of truth due to our human limitations
- Following from the above the Hindu/Vedic theme expressed as “There is one truth, reached by many paths”, leading to a common human experience of the presence of a creative life force.
- An appreciation that with this life force comes a role for love expressed through harmony, understanding, acceptance, and freedom form malice with those we share our lives with .
